We require a professional and dynamic Clinical Services Officer. You will coordinate and actively participate in the development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of clinical governance systems and processes, including patient safety strategies that support high quality clinical care. This position also contributes to other Clinical Services activities, including developing and delivering continuing education modules and providing on- and off-road support for paramedics.

The Role

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager the successful candidate will be expected, amongst other responsibilities, to:

• Develop and delivery approved training and continuing education programs, including on-road support to staff.
• Provide advice and education for safety assessments on a system-based approach for medical error and communicate evidence-based concepts regarding effective patient safety strategies.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of process improvements that will support the reduction of health care errors and other adverse patient outcomes.
• Promote a learning culture and the development of systems to support ongoing clinical growth and improvement with all staff.

The Person:

To be successful in this role the candidate is expected to be a critically thinking professional. In addition, the candidate should be a solutions-focused, self-motivated team player and have the ability to develop meaningful workplace relationships. The successful applicant will have:

• Paramedic registration with AHPRA.
• Clinical credentialing from a CAA recognised ambulance service (or be willing and able to obtain one) and be qualified and practicing as a Paramedic (ICP preferred).
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• An understanding of the principles of clinical governance, patient safety and clinical quality improvement, including incident management processes.
