About the Role

The Grants and Submissions Manager is responsible for the successful delivery and sustained growth of St John Ambulance NSW’s grants and submissions funding channel within the Fundraising portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, this position is responsible for, but not limited to, opportunities to obtain new funds via Grants, Trusts, Foundations, Philanthropic Funds, Tenders, Submissions and more.

This role is either Full time or Part time. 

Key areas of Responsibility:

Grants/Submissions

  • Producing (researching, writing, editing and proof reading) all submissions, ensuring they’re well-presented, compelling and engaging
  • Ensuring all projects are assessed through St John’s robust eligibility framework
  • Delivering annual financial targets, and where possible, ensuring they are exceeded
  • Managing key relationships with relevant funding bodies including, but not limited to, government, industry, commercial and community stakeholders
  • Comply with Grants and Finance policies and procedures

Research

  • Researching and developing a priority target list of new funding opportunities
  • Researching marketplace behaviour and analysing key insights to enhance delivery

Project Management

  • Developing an annual calendar of project and program deliverables
  • Planning and implementing the annual grants work schedule to maximise current and new opportunities
  • Delivering accurate weekly and monthly reports
  • Ensuring the acquittal processed is managed in accordance with funding agreement deadlines
  • Providing support and guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure quality delivery and compliance
  • Ensure all relevant data and contact details are captured within the CRM

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to secure key content (quotes, referrals, project briefs and other) to meet eligibility criteria and deadlines
  • Exceptional presentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, including post-analysis, insights and learnings, with a commitment to continuous process and quality improvement
  • Ability to interpret legislation for adherence to program guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to work as part of a fast paced results driven team
  • Able to demonstrate empathy with the ethos of the organisation
  • Able to work effectively within a commercial and not-for-profit cultural environment
