Data Engineer

St John Ambulance

Do you want to work for an iconic Western Australian organisation committed to changing lives and making a difference to your community?

St John WA is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation that is most known for providing WA’s ambulance service, but also delivers a range of healthcare services to support healthy and resilient communities. For example:

  • we maintain a state-wide network of defibrillators;
  • we teach life-saving first aid skills to more than 400,000 people each year; and
  • our Urgent Care centres provide an alternate pathway for minor injuries and illnesses, rather than congesting hospital emergency departments.

A job to be proud of:

The Business Intelligence department at St John WA uses data analysis and visualisation tools to help the organisation make informed decisions to better serve the community.

The department consists of 14 staff split between an Analysis and Reporting unit, and a Data Engineering and Governance unit. Current team members have diverse backgrounds with qualifications including physics, mathematics, software engineering, biotechnology, and business, as well as having previously worked across the government, private, academic, and defence sectors.

An exciting full-time opportunity is now available for a Data Engineer to join the team in a permanent position, based at our head office in Belmont.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple activities and prioritise workload, while working both autonomously and in a team environment
  • Experience integrating data from different sources in accordance with robust quality assurance processes
  • Experience in documenting data structures and processes.

The following would also be beneficial, but are not required:

  • Exposure to data warehousing concepts and tools
