At Stile Education, we create incredible, engaging science lessons and couple them with an intuitive and flexible teaching platform that encourages a dialogue in the classroom. Our newest product team, Team Lithium, is looking for a Backend Engineer to take ownership of shipping new features and improving existing ones, in order to provide the best possible science teaching experience for our teacher users.

What we're looking for:

• A Backend Engineer with industry experience building web backends in Ruby, and a solid understanding of how the frontend works
• Someone who is excited about solving users' problems and developing the code to put solutions in front of them
• A strong collaborator who enjoys working with others to implement rich features with quality code end-to-end
• A programmer who loves sharing their ideas about what makes good software, learning the same from others, and improving their craft
• Most importantly, someone who believes that education and science are vital to society, and want to contribute to the learning of young people

What you'll be responsible for:

• Working with other team members to design the best implementation of features end-to-end
• Owning the development of backend ruby code to implement business logic and HTTP APIs
• Contribute to improving our existing codebase, leaving things better than you found them
• Share your knowledge and actively seek to improve your craft; more experienced engineers will play an active part in mentoring less experienced team members

• Must be in the AEST timezone - remote engineers welcome
