WHERE YOU COME IN:

In this full-time, permanent position based in Brisbane, you will be responsible for managing our index of technology hardware and software products and services. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the scoping, documentation, design and engineering of class-leading solutions for Android, iOS, and Web platforms.

You will make an impact by strategically:

  • Leading the delivery of Library For All's technology globally
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve our existing products and services, and develop new products and services
  • Supporting the Chief Technology Officer with leading key technology capabilities on behalf of the organisation
  • Providing technical guidance to internal customers, external customers and our engineers, developers and contractors
  • Continuously discovering, evaluating, and implementing new technologies to maximise development efficiency
  • Delivering high quality product (and associated reporting) using an agile/lean methodology
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities (including responding to new funding opportunities) to create greater impact to children around the world

Library For All's Product Manager will also work closely with members of Save the Children's global movement to advance our goal to be recognised as experts in harnessing a class-leading collection of relevant and culturally diverse content and innovative technology to improve educational outcomes for children around the world.

You're an experienced technology professional who demonstrates pro-activity, solutions orientation and entrepreneurialism. You have exceptional interpersonal skills, including well-developed stakeholder relationship management skills and a flexible communication style. You thrive in a highly innovative, agile, and high performing environment and you think and act strategically in response to changing objectives. You set and achieve bold goals, while working autonomously in a fast-growing organisation. And importantly, you share our passion for delivering better educational outcomes for children, using technology as an enabler.

This role requires:

  • Strong experience as a Product Manager (or Project Manager) leading the development and ongoing support of technology products and services, both hardware and software
  • Strong leadership experience, both as a line manager and project manager
  • Solid knowledge of mobile and web development environments
  • An ability to scope and interpret stakeholder software requirements and deliver effective technology solutions
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication, facilitation and consultation skills, with the ability to manage project relationships and liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A detailed understanding of mobile app development (Android and/or iOS),
  • An understanding of ETL processes, relational databases, data mining, and experience with Linux based development
  • Experience with some of our technology stack would be beneficial, though not mandatory:
  • Android (Java & Kotlin)

  • JS
  • GitHub/Git
  • Jenkins/ GitHub Actions
  • GCP /Azure
