As Head of Program Services you will be part of a senior leadership team reporting directly to the CEO. You'll lead our Program Services team to deploy our class-leading education technology and culturally diverse and age appropriate library of illustrated children's books and educational resources in partnership with the world's leading aid and development agencies.

We've already changed the lives of more than 400,000 children, and with your help we can grow that to 20million before the end of this decade.

WHERE YOU COME IN:

In this full-time, permanent position based in your choice of city / remote working (with a portion of time zone overlapping EST), you will be responsible for providing strategic vision and direction, contributing to the growth of organisation and leading the delivery of Library For All's program services globally. You will lead, support, mentor and grow a globally dispersed team of high-performing program management specialists managing programs in Africa, the Pacific, Australia and across Asia.

You will make an impact by strategically:

  • Providing strong technical leadership to the Program Services team
  • Driving a significant agenda of innovation and continuous improvement to create new products, improve existing products, digitise and scale systems and processes, deepen our efficacy and impact, and drive growth
  • Developing and implementing a departmental business plan to outline program delivery metrics, revenue targets and beneficiary impact targets and providing high quality reporting on progress
  • Managing all aspects of a departmental profit & loss, donor and partner relationships and strategy
  • Identifying, negotiating and securing high-value relationships with key programming partners to enable delivery of our program services and contribute to the organisation's growth

You will also work closely with members of Save the Children's team to advance our goal to be recognised as experts in harnessing a class-leading collection of relevant and culturally diverse content and innovative technology to improve educational outcomes for children around the world.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

You're a highly experienced development program delivery leader who thrives in a disruptive role with a mandate for growth, innovation & impact creation. You have proven results in multiple countries leading multiple concurrent program operations in international multi-lingual contexts with a globally distributed workforce. You demonstrate understanding of education / literacy / youth / children programming in different contexts. And importantly, you share our passion for delivering better educational / literacy outcomes for children.

This role requires:

  • significant hands-on relevant program delivery experience achieved through multiple roles in international contexts, including significant senior leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing a +$5m business operation with full responsibility and accountability for operational and financial outcomes including growth
  • Demonstrated success in delivering a highly ambitious program of challenging projects in a fast-paced, complex international environment (or as part of a senior management team)
  • proven results leading multiple concurrent program operations in international multi-lingual contexts with a globally distributed workforce

Required qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in the field of International Development or other relevant qualification (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Additional post-graduate qualification is desirable
