Marketing Manager - Remote / Flexible Location

StartSomeGood
  • Marketing Manager for an award-winning social enterprise
  • Remote: Any East Coast Australia location okay

We are looking for a marketer who is an entrepreneurial hustler who loves sharing stories, is passionate about social enterprise and is looking to make a bigger impact.

This is a great opportunity for a mission-driven and entrepreneurial early-career marketer to join the team at StartSomeGood. Help us fulfil our mission to close the innovation gap in the social sector by supporting grassroots and emerging social entrepreneurs.

We need great people to join our team and help us reach our big hairy audacious goal to help 10,000 impact initiatives raise $100 million to improve 1 billion lives over the next five years.

We have a virtual team so this role can be based from anywhere +/- two hours from EST. Sydney or QLD locations preferred but not essential.

WHO WE ARE

StartSomeGood is a small company with a very big mission: to increase the pace of innovation for social change. Having survived COVID we are now growing fast and need a new team member to take charge of our marketing and increase our reach and impact.

We Inspire emerging changemakers through our annual Virtual Summit and partner event programs. We Equip entrepreneurs to design growth-ready enterprises and initiatives through our Good Hustle course and other capacity-building programs. We support the Launch and Testing of new ideas through our Crowdfunding platform and Accelerator Programs. We help initiatives Grow and Sustain through Recurring Crowdfunding, ongoing coaching and peer communities, such as our StartSomeGood Network. We are currently launching the new crowd-lending platform LendForGood.

We work with great social enterprises, non-profits and individuals looking to make a positive impact as well as with corporates, foundations and government to better inspire social innovation and support social innovators.

StartSomeGood was founded by social entrepreneurs, for social entrepreneurs, and we are dedicated to growing a generation of changemakers worldwide. As part of our commitment to creating a better world we are a Registered B Corp and signee of the Founder Pledge.

The Marketing Manager role will complement our Social Media Manager by developing and implementing outreach campaigns to promote our key projects and opportunities for emerging social entrepreneurs.

We need people who are collaborative but entrepreneurial, able to hold down their area of responsibility and comfortable with startup uncertainty, complexity and hours.

We are on a journey of discovery and every day is different, but we’re creating the future together!

WHO YOU ARE

Curious, entrepreneurial, friendly and focused. You find everyone you meet interesting and have a passion for helping people. You’re probably early in your career but with a great track record of making things happen, running your own projects and building your own social media following.

You consider yourself a jack or jill of all trades, happy to whip up a graphic in Canva, build a simple landing page, craft an email update or write a blog post. You enjoy getting a message out to the right audience and sharing inspiring stories of people changing the world.

This is an incredible opportunity for an ambitious early-career marketer to massively step-up your game and accelerator your career while making a real difference.

We know we’re asking for a lot but this is the opportunity of a lifetime for the right person: you can build and implement campaigns that inspire action, grow your skills and reputation, immerse yourself in the growing social enterprise sector and make a real difference in the world.

This is not a “come up with a strategic plan” kind of marketing role. You will be involved in bigger picture discussions around strategy and vision, but your focus will be on getting shit done and learning by doing.

You may not necessarily have a lot of career experience yet, but you’ve got a history of starting projects, developing your own social media accounts and being part of the community around you.

You are passionate about social entrepreneurship and how technology can support entrepreneurs and communities to create change. You are comfortable as part of a virtual team and value flexibility and agency. You are used to managing your own time, juggling multiple projects and getting a lot done with the time you have.

If you’re up for the challenge, get in touch!
