ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting new role that will l co-ordinate SSI's regional Government relations work in line with SSI's Regional Engagement Strategy. The key priority of this role is to successfully co-ordinate SSI's regional Government relations work. Ensure that SSI is a non-partisan, recognised, credible and reliable organisation that government seeks advice from ensuring successful delivery of desired outcomes.

A big part of this role is to establish and manage high-level stakeholder relationships across regional NSW working collaboratively to create a welcoming environment for migrants to regional communities and to open up new pathways for migrants from the cities or overseas to settle successfully in regional areas

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a Regional Government Relations Coordinator to join a small but dynamic team. In this role you will play a key, strategic role in supporting the Government and Member Relations Manager and SSI's lobbying of state and federal government, government departments, advisory bodies and political parties. In particular, effective advocacy within SSI's investment in regional development across NSW, with an emphasis on the enabling role migration plays in contributing to social and economic growth.

Your passion for Government Relations will be critical to success in this role. You are agile, collaborative and love to perform at the highest level with little supervision.

You possess highly developed government relations, strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, planning and project management skills. You pride yourself in your excellent written communication skills, liaison skills and the ability to anticipate and manage multiple priorities.

You have a strong understanding of political, policy and regulatory processes, you can engage at high levels with government, parliamentary and industry stakeholders on complex regulatory matters.
You have at least 5 years previous experience which 2 should be in government or government relations.
Your high level of verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to build effective networks, will see you achieve your and our strategic goals.
