SSI draws on its expertise and experience to advocate for the people and communities it serves. Through the work we do, we empower people to change their lives. Through our advocacy and representation, we influence ideas and policy.

ABOUT MULTICULTURAL CHILD AND FAMILY SUPPORT (MCFS) PROGRAM

The Multicultural Child and Family Support (MCFS) Program provides a range of services to assist children and young people who have been found to be in need of care and protection to meet their permanent care plan needs - safety, stability and wellbeing through a culturally aware and responsive lens.

The MCFS Program uses a client centred, strengths-based, trauma informed framework to guide its service delivery and facilitate sustainable and practical outcomes for children, young people, families and carers; working in partnership with member agencies and local ethnic and sector partners. Its cultural lens aims to link children and young people with a bilingual worker and/or carer and/or community based matched bilingual support worker.

The MCFS Program has contractual responsibilities with FACS and regulatory responsibilities with the Office of the Children's Guardian (OCG).

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

This is your opportunity to provide operational management and leadership to the multicultural child and family permanency care program as it builds on how the services support children achieve their permanency care goals whether that is restoration, guardianship, adoption or long term foster care.

  • Champion and effectively manage best practice in relation to meeting children's permanency needs, including leading culturally responsive care
  • Supervise, mentor and coach Manager Casework and Team Leaders to deliver effective child focused casework and case management outcomes and embed a high performance culture across teams
  • Monitor and report on outcomes
  • Travel is required to Newcastle weekly and the role cover teams based in Bankstown (essential).
