ABOUT the Program

The Local Jobs Program (LJP) is a Federal Government-funded initiative that is a first of its kind, designed in response to the impact COVID-19 has had on the economy. The program is part of supporting Australia's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Local Jobs Program (LJP) is an Australian Government funded initiative designed to provide employment opportunities and build economic recovery in what has been an unprecedented time. It brings together expertise, resources and access to funding at the local level to focus on reskilling, upskilling and employment pathways for people in each region.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

The Local Jobs Program Deputy Employment Facilitator will provide high quality 1:1 support and assist the Employment Facilitator with critical activities and tasks to ensure successful delivery of the program. This role will also enable the wider community's engagement with the program, support job seekers, including online job seekers, to connect with local employment and training programs.

Key areas of responsibility include but not limited to:

  • Engaging and managing stakeholder relationship
  • Finds ways to win cooperation from different stakeholders, creating and executing influence strategies that persuade key stakeholders to take action that will advance shared interests and business goals
  • Maintain and update Local Job Plan, assisting proponents to develop LJP activities alongside the Employment facilitator and ensure ongoing progress of LJP projects and activities
  • Analyse and report on labour market data and information; prepare monthly reports, stats and outcomes and track this information
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, including booking rooms and sending invitations; prepare agenda, record minutes and complete follow-up
  • Manage and coordinate ad hoc reporting and administrative support as required by the department and the Employment Facilitator
  • The (LJP) Deputy Employment Facilitator will also provide secretariat services to the Taskforce; including but not limited to:
  • Organising and coordinating Taskforce meetings, including booking rooms and sending invitations
  • Preparing meeting papers, including agenda and minutes
  • Noting outcomes/minutes and ensuring these are sent out to members within two business days of each Taskforce meeting and publishing communique
  • Maintaining an issues, actions and decisions register for the Taskforce

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is proactive and efficient, has excellent time management skills and exceptional attention to details skills; highly developed communication and interpersonal skills; someone who can respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible/ innovative approach to problems and opportunities; possess strong business administration skills coupled with proficiency in all Microsoft office applications.

As the (LJP) Deputy Employment Facilitator, you'll be the reliable right hand to the program's Employment Facilitator. With your bright and personable demeanour and brilliant communication skills, you'll encourage local businesses to employ local talent.

This role can best be summed up as equal parts relationship management and administration and is best suited to someone who loves a bit of both. Any given day could see you building relationships face to face with local businesses, organising meetings and taking minutes, looking for clever ways to engage employers into the program, creating reports on the employment market, attending events as a representative of the program and more.
