We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Grants and Partnerships Manager to take a successful organisation and team to the next level. Reporting to the CEO and an integral member of the executive team, the Grants and Partnerships Manager will be responsible for transforming philanthropy and corporate partnerships, achieving uplift in current financial position, identifying and securing new philanthropic grants and supporting SRAU operations and our members.

The Grants and Partnerships Manager will work closely with the CEO to build a portfolio of grants including government, philanthropy and corporate partnerships as well as SRAU communications and marketing activities. The Grants and Partnerships Manager will lead one direct report and together will help diversify SRAU funding.

  • Key internal relationships Senior National Program Manager and Trainer, National Program Manager and Trainer, Operational Support Officer, Operational Support Lead, Content Producer
  • Other key internal relationships will include Board members, Research Advisory Committee, Ambassadors, other committees, volunteers and pro bono support
  • SMART Recovery International CEO and International Fundraising Committee
  • Key external relationships include facilitators, participants, suppliers and partner organisations

PLACE OF WORK

  • National with work from home supported

TERMS

  • Remuneration based on knowledge and experience - up to $120,000 per annum
  • SMART Recovery Australia offers salary packaging

HOURS OF WORK

  • Full Time 38 hours
  • Business hours 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (SRAU has flexible ethos - outside of these hours to be negotiated)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with all team members to facilitate the realisation of SMART Strategic Plan and Project #345
  • Working with the CEO, determine targets and take ownership in achieving and exceeding them
  • Manage Philanthropic Grant application process end-to-end, including: internal process, scheduling, reporting, identifying grant opportunities and cultivate relationships with trusts & foundations
  • Grant management will involve new and ongoing funding and project proposals, grant management, and grant acquittals
  • Researching new grant opportunities and applying for these new grants
  • In collaboration with CEO researching, preparing and submitting government tenders
  • Building relationships with relevant people to create opportunities to be invited to apply for grants
  • Working with SRAU Members identity funding opportunities to support the implementation of SRAU meetings post training
  • Drive revenue growth from trusts & foundations, government and and businesses
  • Seek opportunities to partner with government, commercial and community based organisations to grow SRAU
  • Collaborate and meet regularly with the team to develop effective communications and stakeholder engagement plans
  • Refresh and develop donor collateral and communications across SRAU platforms
  • Maintain compliance with grant agreements including ensuring grant instalments are paid by donors on time
  • Drafting timely, high quality, and impactful reports for donors that full capture program progress and impact
  • Assembling all necessary supporting materials and documents including expenditure reports, outcome measurements, success stories, case studies etc.
  • Seek both internal and external updates, information, news or current environmental, political or developmental challenges or advances that may impact our work

THE IDEAL PERSON

We love proactive self-starters with energy and enthusiasm. You would have a successful track record in major gifts fundraising, securing new multi-year partnerships and winning grants.

The ideal person for this role will have commercial savvy and thrive on achieving and exceeding financial targets. Your capabilities include a collaborative leadership style, strong stakeholder relationship management, problem-solving and influencing.

COMPETENCY PROFILE

The skills and competencies required to fulfil this role are set out below:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Strong track record in generating grants and managing prospect pipelines
  • Demonstrated experience writing winning grant applications, funding proposals and government tenders
  • A degree in a relevant field
  • At least 4 years’ experience working for an NGO or similar role
  • Effective budget management and ability to deliver long-term sustainability
  • Solid experience in Customer Relationship Management System (bonus if Monday.com and Arlo)
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage complex detail and multiple projects priorities and relationships
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, productive working environment
  • Confidence in working independently, and as part of a small team

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Have awareness of the alcohol and other drugs, addictions and mental health fields.
