Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Project Officer to work closely with the Inclusion and Projects Manager to deliver a variety of impactful projects. This role is vital in promoting inclusion activities, supporting people with intellectual disabilities to participate in boards, committees, and events, and ensuring that their voices are heard in every project.
Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, disability service providers, and community organisations.
- Facilitate consultations and workshops to ensure that the voices and needs of people with disabilities are central to project development.
- Program and Service Innovation
- Identify opportunities for innovation in service delivery and communicate these with the Inclusion and Projects Manager.
- Provide feedback on how the projects align with emerging trends in disability policy.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Assist with preparing reports for the Board, government agencies, and other stakeholders to demonstrate project impact.
- Ensure continuous improvement of project methodologies through data-driven decision-making.

Staff Mentoring & Development
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Provide leadership and guidance to help team members grow in their roles.

Advocacy & Representation
- Act as a strong advocate for people with disabilities, representing their interests in various settings.
- Contribute to systemic advocacy efforts to influence policy and improve disability services.
Key Selection Criteria:

Project Management Experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects, particularly in disability services or social justice.

Knowledge of Disability Policies
- Understanding of disability legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act, NDIS, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including individuals with disabilities, government, and community groups.

Strong Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and presentations.

- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills to help guide the team and navigate complex systems.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- A post-graduate qualification, TAFE Diploma in Community Services and/or Disability, or substantial relevant experience in the sector.
- Relevant Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
- A current Australian Drivers License is required.
