A fantastic opportunity has become available for an Analyst to join a 10 year old discrete charitable trust based in Melbourne. In this newly created role, you will be part of a high functioning growing team of nine (soon to be 12) professionals. The team seek to achieve the Trust’s mission of creating sustainable change with a focus on climate change, Indigenous Australians and disability.

The Analyst, Climate Change will work in the Climate Change team focused on granting opportunities, particularly energy decarbonisation in Australia and Southeast and East Asia.

Working closely with the Head of Climate Investments, your key priorities will be:

  • Conducting analysis and research on specific projects and sector trends
  • Supporting the evaluation of new and existing investment opportunities (mostly grants)
  • Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on sector/portfolio/investment performance
  • Maintaining a database of partners and their relevant performance indicators
  • Leading the administration of the investment management process including drafting grant letters

The Trust puts a strong emphasis on cultural fit. The team are motivated by a desire to make a positive impact in the world using their professional skills. The Trust is based in modern offices in Box Hill, close to tram and train (though everyone is working from home at present). The Trust is a fully cloud office environment and you need to be an avid technology user.

In addition to being degree qualified, to be successful in the role, you bring the following:

  • 2-4 years of previous qualitative and quantitative research and analysis experience in a field related to climate change
  • Excellent writing skills and obsessive about details
  • An ability to break down and present complex ideas
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication style
  • Experience multitasking and managing priorities with competing deadlines
  • Self-directing with initiative and able to work within a small team
  • Curiosity to consider the relevancy of diverse issues
