Learn about the position:

Location: Edinburgh North (flexibility possible around this)

Hours: 1FTE

The Senior Finance Business Partner is a key leadership position within the Finance & IT portfolio and provides oversight in the provision of finance business partnering services which includes budgeting, forecasting, financial analyses and provision of financial insights. The Senior Finance Business Partner will support the Exec Manager, Finance & IT, in driving Sonder’s financial planning & Analysis process and provide key insights into financial risks, trends and opportunities to support strategic decision making and best practice financial management.

Reporting directly to the Executive Manager Finance and IT, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide cohesive leadership to other Finance Business Partners including contributing to the recruitment, support and day to day supervision of the team.
  • Monitor workloads, and contribute to the development of a maintenance and support program for Finance staff that is sustainable within Sonder in consultation with the Executive Manager for Finance & IT.
  • Create a culture of accountability by discussing performance metrics, goals and success measures with the team.
  • Provide accurate and regular financial reports on a timely basis.
  • Work with the Finance Leadership team in preparing Sonder’s annual budget and undertake budget reviews
  • Undertake financial Planning and forecasting to include monitoring of budgets and key internal and external parameters, and analysing the financial impact of emerging priorities, key risks and opportunities for programs.

Experience requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant management accounting or finance business partnering experience to include budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team of accounting professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative, effective and working relationships with diverse teams and individuals.
  • Experience in the use of accounting and reporting software.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing, preparing and interpreting management accounts and other financial reports for various programs/ projects of an organisation.
  • Experience in financial modelling.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.

Qualification and Clearance requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • CPA/CA/CIMA designation
  • Must possess current Child Related Employment Screening / Working with Children Check.
  • Must possess a National Police Clearance
