Learn about the position:

The Mental Health Clinician will work as part of a multidisciplinary youth mental health team at headspace Onkaparinga to deliver focused psychological interventions for youth aged 12-25 with mental health disorders in a primary care setting. This role is open to Psychologists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Nurses.

Reporting directly to the Headspace Operations Lead, your responsibilities will be:

  • Providing specialist triage, comprehensive assessment, review of client progress and outcomes and care planning/coordination and support of clients
  • Providing evidence based clinical therapeutic services (individual and group) to youth within the Northern region of Adelaide
  • Group program development and implementation where appropriate and necessary
  • Liaison and consultation with other professional employees and stakeholders
  • Participation in individual and group supervision, and attendance at team meetings and external meetings
  • Referral of clients and family members/careers to other services as required

Location: This position will be based at our headspace Onkaparinga centre

Experience requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the area of youth mental health
  • Relevant professional development and or supervision.
  • Experience in delivery cognitive behaviour therapy and other evidence based interventions for youth mental health difficulties.

Qualification requirements:

  • Qualified in one of the following disciplines and membership to associated professional body; Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing
  • Current and full registration with the appropriate registration authority (AASW, AHPRA)
  • AASW Social Workers should have current AASW Mental Health Accreditation
  • Current National Police Check and DCSI Working With Children Clearance
  • Current Child Safe Environments
