  • Functional Recovery Clinician - Part-time (up to 37.5 hrs per week)
  • Working Location: Position available to be based in our headspace Edinburgh North Centre

Thank you for your interest in applying for the position of Functional Recovery Clinician within our emerge Youth Mental Health Program, based at our headspace Edinburgh North Centre.

The Functional Recovery Clinician will work as part of an Integrated Practice Unit, Youth (IPUY), and multidisciplinary mental health team to deliver focused structured psychological interventions for complex youth aged 16-25 with mental health disorders.

The Clinician will work within the clinical team of the IPUY, better known as ‘emerge’ to assist with the scoping and development of psychosocial group programs and other supports for young people with complex mental health conditions.

The Functional Recovery Clinician shall:

  • Promote functional recovery for consumers of the emerge service
  • Reduce impact of mental illness on the developmental trajectory of the young person (social, educational, vocational)
  • Support skill development across life domains
  • Support the integration of the Peer Work Model into the emerge Service
  • Create opportunities for young people to connect and share experiences to build confidence and enhance self-esteem of young people who are experiencing a complex mental illness

Applicants must have approved tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline, including social work, psychology, mental health nursing or occupational therapy. As well as membership of an appropriate professional body. Social workers are required to be eligible for full membership with AASW. Psychologists, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists are required to have full registration with AHPRA.
