Thank you for your interest in applying for the position of Continuing Care Team (CCT) Clinician based at our headspace Adelaide Centre.

Established in 2006, headspace is a well-recognised, national not-for-profit organisation making a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years. headspace enables young people and their families to access information and support through a national network of centres and services, and drives community awareness and education about youth mental health, early intervention and help seeking.

headspace Adelaide provides a range of services to young people including primary health, mental health, substance use counselling and social recovery programs. Inclusive in this is the headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program which supports young people deemed to be at high risk of or experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The service is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals and focuses on the provision of early intervention services, utilising evidence-based practice with the vision of improving the quality of life of young people.

As a CCT clinician, you will be responsible for the intensive case management of a caseload of young people who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis. Our CCT Clinicians assertively engage, undertake comprehensive assessments, and deliver contemporary, evidence-based clinical interventions for first episode psychosis and its comorbidities.

If you have a comprehensive understanding of the principles of community based, intensive case management coupled with clinical skills in engaging young people with mental health challenges and their families, then this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

headspace Adelaide is seeking a Clinician who possess the ability to provide high quality assessment, psychoeducation and evidence based psychological interventions, such as CBT within a stress-vulnerability framework for young people. Naturally, you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with a demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex problems, effectively and resolve conflict.

We are seeking applicants from the following backgrounds; Registered Psychologists, Mental Health Accredited Social Workers, Mental Health Nurses and Occupational Therapists.

What is the role of a lead agency?

Each local headspace Centre is led by a lead agency on behalf of a local partnership of organisations responsible for the delivery of mental health, drug & alcohol and primary care services as well as community-based providers of vocational assistance and training.

Lead Agencies are locally based and run services that are able to share the vision of a headspace Centre and ensure this is appropriately meeting the needs of the local community.
