Community Engagement Officer (Stakeholder Support) 

Part-time – 5 days per Fortnight

Position available to be located at headspace Adelaide – Wakefield St, Adelaide

Thank you for your interest in applying for the position of Community Engagement Officer (Stakeholder Support).

The Community Engagement Officer (Stakeholder Support) will work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team to plan, organise and implement stakeholder activities for headspace Adelaide.

The Community Engagement Officer (Stakeholder Support) will act a conduit for information sharing and awareness raising around early detection for youth at risk of early psychosis in the wider community. In addition, they will provide information about early detection for the Ultra High Risk cohort to support early intervention with key stakeholders who may be working with young people at risk of psychosis.

A key component of the Community Engagement Officer (Stakeholder Support) role is to deliver training packages to stakeholders, with support from headspace Adelaide clinical teams as required. The role will also provide general education, service information and present on relevant mental health topics to relevant community organisations, including schools and other groups.

The Community Engagement Officer (Stakeholder Support) will assist the centre with the management of partnerships and service linkages to provide appropriate clinical pathways for the service to ensure there is early intervention, responsive, and recovery focused care for young people aged 12 – 25 years. This includes management and support of headspace Adelaide’s Consortium and Project Partners.

This position sits within headspace Adelaide Community Engagement Team, which supports all program within the centre. The team sits within the broader Sonder Youth Services stream and has close working relationships across Sonder’s other programs, including other headspace centres.

About Sonder, Lead Agency for headspace (effective as of 01 July 19)

What is the role of a lead agency?

Each local headspace Centre is led by a lead agency on behalf of a local partnership of organisations responsible for the delivery of mental health, drug & alcohol and primary care services as well as community-based providers of vocational assistance and training.

Lead Agencies are locally based and run services that are able to share the vision of a headspace Centre and ensure this is appropriately meeting the needs of the local community.
