Project Officer, Communities for Children

This Project Officer supports the Project Manager in the implementation of the Communities for Children Facilitating Partner (CfC FP) initiative at Fairfield NSW. CfC FP is a place-based initiative that facilitates early intervention and prevention activities, builds community and sector capacity, and strengthens service connections and systems in order to improve outcomes for children and their families.

The key responsibilities of the Project Officer are:

Project Support

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of service agreements
  • Support and advise contracted service providers to ensure effective and responsive service delivery
  • Research, analyse and translate data and information related to community needs and service delivery responses
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Manager and Communities for Children Committee
  • Provide site management support to the Project Manager

Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including community members, NGOs, businesses and government agencies
  • Advise on strategic linkages between agencies and community
  • Support leadership and facilitation of community networks and service coordination activities
  • Coordinate community events and promotional activities

  • Balance sound technical skills, including measurement and evaluation, with a strong relationship focus
  • Demonstrate proven experience in working with community towards improved outcomes
  • Be motivated, a genuine team player and able to work with a small and passionate team in the delivery of a fast moving, place-based initiative
