As we gear up for our Annual Toy & Book Appeal, we are seeking an Operations Supervisor in each state to provide operational and onsite support for the Toy & Book campaign from October to December 2020.

This annual event receives, packs and delivers thousands of donated toys and books to children in need for Christmas. Primarily, this role will be focused on the coordination of all onsite event related logistics, administration, stock management and supervising volunteers including:

  • Assisting Christmas Manager to ensure project objectives are met on time and delivered successfully
  • Ensure picking and packing of toy and book order targets and KPIs are met through daily monitoring of the team’s productivity
  • Ensure logistics, production and WHS set policies and procedures are achieved
  • Keeping an organised, safe and well-running warehouse, set up daily.
  • Providing excellent customer service to The Smith Family donors
  • Manage a large warehouse team of Volunteers including The Smith Family staff, Corporate Volunteers, Community Volunteers and Contract team members encouraging a positive and uplifting working environment including daily safety briefings
  • Reporting as required

Our successful candidates will bring the following:

  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • QLD applicants must have a valid Working with Children Blue Card prior to beginning role.
  • Demonstrate Operations Management and/or Warehouse Logistics experience
  • Natural team leader with demonstrated experience in leading teams
  • A strong customer service ethic, positive approach and can-do attitude
  • Intermediate excel and solid administration skills
  • Experience managing volunteers (Desirable)
  • Stock Management experience (Desirable)

Hours are flexible to accommodate early starts, late finishes and weekend work. Initial part-time hours (October) moving to full time engagement (November & December)
