The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are currently seeking a Learning Club Coordinator to join our growing team.

The Learning Club Coordinator is a vital role within the Learning for Life Programs, being responsible for the delivery TSF Learning Clubs to engage students in their academic learning. This position includes planning, implementation and facilitation of the program, coordination and supervision of tutors and participants. To ensure the successful delivery of the Learning for Life Club program you must be willing to communicate and liaise with key stakeholders, maintain appropriate duty of care and child protection policies and ensuring relevant evaluation is completed.

A day in the life of a Learning Club Coordinator might look like this, but in reality, every day will be different:

  • Facilitating the development of session plans in partnership with Program Coordinator/s, Team Leader and key partners including schools, university and utilising TSF content library where applicable.
  • Responsible for the weekly management and administrative tasks enabling smooth and efficient running of the Learning Club program.
  • Ensuring that duty of care is undertaken for volunteer tutors and that the TSF child protection policy is implemented for the duration of the club.
  • Responsible in conjunction with Program Coordinator, for communications with key stakeholders as per agreed in partnership agreements
  • Assist with gathering and collating data into CONNECT for national evaluation purposes.

It takes a special kind of person to be our Learning Club Coordinator. Our successful candidate will bring the following:

  • Experience in working with children in an educational setting
  • Experience in management of volunteers tutors
  • High level of literacy, written, verbal, computing skills
  • Knowledge of issues affecting disadvantaged students
  • Current driver’s license
