The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are currently seeking a Financial Literacy Program Coordinator to join our growing team. Reporting to the Program Manager and working with a dedicated and passionate team, the Financial Literacy Program Coordinator is a pivotal role in the coordination of delivery of the Certificate I in Financial Services nationally, in collaboration with community based Learning for Life Programs Coordinators.

A day in the life of a Financial Literacy Program Coordinator might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Support Learning for Life Programs Coordinators to coordinate delivery of the Certificate I in Financial Services.
  • Manage training resourcing, including scheduling facilitators and travel; support quality control and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Work with the Training Manager to identify gaps and appoint and train qualified training facilitators
  • Administration of program resources, student paperwork and assessments.
  • Maintain up to date skills and knowledge in Cert IV training and assessment, Certificate I Financial Services and Money Minded.

It takes a special kind of person to be our Financial Literacy Program Coordinator. Our successful candidate will bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in community services or social sciences or equivalent experience (a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and project coordination and the social/community sector
  • Well-developed organisation, administration and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Flexible, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement
  • Excellent communicator and ability to build strong working relationships
