The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are currently seeking an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our team.

Reporting to the National Manager, Events & Community Fundraising and working with a dedicated and passionate team, this role is to coordinate QLD stakeholder engagement events across Philanthropy and State & Territory Operations, as well as offer a fundraising support role for State Community Groups within the Community Fundraising space.

A day in the life of our Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

Manage QLD Toy and Book Project

  • Internal stakeholder engagement and management
  • Manage and execute within approved budget
  • Plan and oversee the operations of the state project
  • Plan and manage timeline
  • Build and manage supplier relationships
  • Conduct detailed risk analysis and management for the state project
  • State Sponsorship & Pro Bono Management
  • State stock distribution and assessment
  • State volunteer rostering and management
  • Effective data coordination and execution
  • Generate detailed post-event reports and stocktake
  • Oversee and manage packing targets and KPIs
  • Oversee and manage warehouse logistics
  • Oversee and manage state donated goods

Coordinate State based events – Philanthropy and Operations

  • Internal stakeholder engagement and coordination
  • Event management and planning of state based philanthropy and operations events,
  • Registration & guest list coordination
  • Prepare post-event reports and recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate closely with relevant team members

Community Group Fundraising Support

  • Account Management of State Community Group supporter portfolio
  • Attend State fundraising events as The Smith Family Representative
  • Regular tracking of supporter income, engagement
  • Distribution of supporter communication pieces

Our successful candidate will bring the following:

  • Diploma or above in Project or Event Management desirable
  • Demonstrated working experience (at least 3 years) in event management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise and meet project timeframes
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Budget and Data Management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
