THE ORGANISATION

Sunraysia Mallee Ethnic Communities Council Inc. (SMECC) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation with nearly 40 years serving the community in assisting to settle new migrants and refugees into Mildura and the surrounding area.

The organisation based in Mildura Victoria, is currently employing up to 20 employees and receiving valuable voluntary assistance from approximately 30 people within the community. Services are currently being offered at Mildura and Swan Hill locations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful applicant must be:

A tertiary qualified leader, possess high-level communication skills, with a positive and diplomatic approach, able to build and sustain internal and external stakeholder relationships and partnerships, operating at a senior level in a complex community organisation, a confident and effective people manager, able to lead and engage a culturally diverse team, experienced in supervising sustainable financial practices to support organisational growth, reporting to a board of directors, with an ability to generate innovative new services, knowledgeable about funding, service agreements and program reporting.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Board you will lead a small team to operationalise the strategic plan, identify opportunities for growth, build governance capacity and overall organisational performance. Full time with a maximum term employment contract and an option to extend. Remuneration negotiable based on SCHADS Award Level 8, qualifications, and experience. NFP salary packaging available.
