We are seeking a family violence lawyer to join our growing team. A strong knowledge and understanding of family violence is required, and experience in family law, VOCAT and/or child protection considered an advantage.

About the role

The role presents a unique opportunity to assist clients at the Specialist Family Violence Court at the Moorabbin Justice Centre as well as build the LGBTIQ Legal Service family violence practice.

Other key aspects of the role include:

  • A combination of court advocacy and community legal education
  • Working with our health justice and community partners
  • Developing and delivering training which may include the provision of digital and remote strategies
  • Identifying and holistically responding to emerging needs   
  • Participating in networks to improve the family violence system.

Salary and conditions   

The position is full-time (38 hours per week) but 0.8 or 0.9 FTE will be considered for the right candidate for a fixed term of one year.

Conditions are set out under the SCHADS Award and Community Legal Centre Multi-Business Agreement and this role is classified as Level 5.3 under the pay award.
