We are seeking a civil lawyer to join our growing team. A strong knowledge and understanding in one or more of the following areas of law is required: housing, consumer law, debt, social security, mental health, employment law.

About the role

The role presents a unique opportunity to respond to client need in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. This will include exploring new approaches to service delivery and legal education which may include the provision of digital and remote strategies. 

Other key aspects of the role include:

  • Working with our health justice and community partners
  • Identifying and holistically responding to emerging legal need   
  • Engaging in strategic projects, law reform and advocacy activities  
  • Collaborating with others to influence and create systems change
  • Exploring new and innovative opportunities to enhance impact.

Salary and conditions   

The position is full-time (38 hours per week) but 0.8 or 0.9 FTE will be considered for the right candidate for a fixed term of two years.

Conditions are set out under the SCHADS Award and Community Legal Centre Multi-Business Agreement and this role is classified as Level 5.3 under the pay award.
