About you

We are seeking an administration professional with a minimum of 3 years working in a legal practice or community organisation, who can hit the ground running.  

A strong knowledge and understanding of legal administration and office systems is required: this role is not suited to recent graduates. Law graduates seeking paralegal experience will not be considered.

You have strong computer skills and familiarity with a variety of platforms including Office365.

Enthusiastic, energetic and flexible, you thrive on multi-tasking and are calm, resourceful and highly organised.

About the role

The administration assistant undertakes administrative and paralegal tasks for the legal practice so that lawyers are supported to focus upon delivery of legal services.

Duties include assistance with data entry and reporting, electronic file management, client intake and appointment booking, legal practice administration and support.

The role will have a particular focus on supporting the legal practice to meet the aims and objectives of the Specialist Family Violence Court model in relation to the client experience of intake, referrals and delivery of legal services both at court and at office-based or outreach appointments. 

Salary and conditions  

The position is full-time (38 hours per week) but 0.8 to 1 FTE will be considered for the right candidate for a fixed term of two years. The continuation of this role is contingent on securing ongoing funding. It is subject to a 6-month probationary period where it will be reviewed to ascertain the effectiveness of the position.  

Conditions are set out under the SCHADS Award and Community Legal Centre Multi-Business Agreement and this role is classified as Level 3.4 under the pay award.
