St John of God Community Wellbeing Services are a community based service that provides specialised mental health services to people aged 16 and over. It provides community-based psychiatric assessment and referral, counselling, therapeutic group work and support services to families experiencing mental health difficulties. These services are offered on a non-residential, non-crisis basis.
We currently have an opportunity available for suitably qualified and experienced Psychologists, Occupational Therapists or Social Workers to commence as a Mental Health Clinician.
As another valuable member of our multidisciplinary team, the Mental Health Clinician provides assistance to individuals and families who are experiencing mental health difficulties within the Ballarat area. The Mental Health Clinician participates in the assessment, planning and delivery of mental health care, provides community based referrals to other agencies as deemed appropriate in addition to phone and office based consultations to families and individuals in response to referrals.
Due to team context, for psychology applicants, we are seeking a fully general registered psychologist (we will not have capacity to supervise psychology registrars or internships)
Successful candidates must hold a medicare provider number and be able to travel throughout the Ballarat area.
This is a permanent part time position working 60.8 hours per fortnight which may increase to 76 hours per fortnight to cover a maternity leave vacancy period (potentially from May 2021).
