This is a part-time position (21 hours/fortnight) paid at the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Level 4 and subject to the National Employment Standards.
To meet the requirements for this position you must speak/read/write Cantonese, Mandarin, or Simplified Chinese. You must also have a workable understanding of English.
SIN is a community-based organisation funded by SA Health. We promote the health, rights, and wellbeing of SA sex workers and recognise sex work as legitimate, skilled labour.
Everyone who works or volunteers at SIN identifies as a past or present sex worker. SIN promotes an inclusive and diverse work environment that seeks to ensure staff feel valued and supported. We are governed by a board of peers, organisational objectives, values, visions, and a 5-year strategic plan. We are committed to building the capacity and strength of the SA sex work community through fostering meaningful connections and relationships with sex workers, as well as a range of allies and stakeholders. SIN provides education and information through targeted projects and services that empower sex workers.
We engage in best practise service delivery at all times. SIN advocates for the eradication of stigma and discrimination within a sex work context and promotes law reform, practises, and policies that optimise the health and welfare of sex workers. SIN is a representational and accountable voice for SA sex workers, we are driven by the needs, aspirations, and concerns of the SA sex work community.
The SIN CALD Project Worker will be working directly with CALD and migrant sex workers by providing bi-lingual, culturally appropriate peer-education, support, advocacy and referral services.
