About the Position

The Sales and Stakeholder team at She’s A Crowd is looking for a project officer who can support with the upcoming launch of our ambassador program, ‘Raise The Crowd’. Through our program we aim to provide young people with the critical skills to address gender-based violence in their communities. By providing them with the appropriate tools, we aim to facilitate the creation of community-driven solutions by our ambassadors. We’re looking for someone with experience in community engagement, advocacy and campaigning to help us drive this project so that we can grow our social movement among local communities. Through this program, we plan to work with a diverse group of young people and want to ensure that it is able to serve all communities in a meaningful way.

Individuals with relevant lived experience or those who identify as belonging to any of these groups will be prioritised: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, person of colour, person living with a disability and/or LGBTQIA+ folk.

Responsibilities

• Program design and execution for Raise The Crowd
• Workshop and e-learning content development related to advocacy and campaigning
• Support with managing Raise The Crowd participants
• Support with managing external partnerships for Raise The Crowd
• Supporting the Sales and Stakeholder manager with other research and advocacy activities as they arise

Key Performance Indicators for this role (KPIs)

• Program is delivered to a high standard (participants are highly engaged and receive significant impact from participation)
• Ability to deliver high quality content for workshops and the e-learning modules

Key Competencies and Desired Attributes

• Deep understanding and experience in advocacy and campaigning related to gender equality, anti-racism, LGBTQIA+ rights or other related issues
• Experience in program design and execution at a community level including facilitation
• Critical thinking skills with an eagerness to learn and challenge ideas or concepts to ensure the best possible outcome for She’s A Crowd and the program
• Able to apply an intersectional feminist lens to all their work
• Passion for addressing gender-based violence, women’s rights and social justice
• Ability to work towards deadlines but is flexible and adaptable during the process (being part of a startup means the role will inevitably go beyond the initial roles and responsibilities)
• Proven ability to work well independently and in a team dynamic (Our team all work remotely therefore we expect everyone to demonstrate initiative and motivation to work independently. But we also enjoy collaboration and discussing our ideas during meetings or on Slack.)
• Research skills and ability to communicate in a variety of levels
• High degree of digital literacy (familiarity with Google Workspace and Slack)
