Safe Futures Foundation is a not for profit Specialist Family Violence Organisation providing frontline services to women and children to help them escape control, abuse and violence and rebuild their lives. We have been responding to family violence and changing people’s stories for over 40 years. We operate across 2 main sites in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs and our new site in the Western region. We are funded by the Department of Health and Human Services.

As a result of our growth into the Western Suburbs, we are currently seeking support and after-hours workers to fill multiple vacancies in our new, 24-hour state of the art Refuge and Emergency Accommodation service located in Wyndham. The roles available include 1 x .8 and 3 x .6 Part-time Support Workers on 12-month fixed term contracts.
Working as part of a dynamic team the family violence support worker assists the work of SFF family violence case managers to implement goals and meet needs identified in client plans. The support worker has the primary responsibility to assist in the co-ordination and delivery of practical supports and resources for women and children in refuge accommodation, experiencing family violence and trauma. The role also requires identifying community resources and linking clients to community-based activities and services.
The role involves working rostered hours and sleepover shifts, including weekend and public holidays as well as recall to duty if required.
A Diploma in Community Services or equivalent and relevant experience working in a similar position within Family and Domestic Violence is highly desirable, as is your ability to work harmoniously within a supportive and driven environment, whilst ensuring accountability and outcomes are delivered as required under our contracts.
Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends, sleepover and on-call.
