Seniors Rights Service is a community organisation specialising in legal advice for older people across NSW and is Australia’s largest aged care advocacy service. We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced people to join our Board of Directors. We are particularly interested in expanding our diversity and hearing from First Nations people, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ people and/or people residing in rural and regional NSW.

In 2020 Seniors Rights Service delivered more than 7,000 aged care advocacy services and more than 4,000 legal services across NSW. In 2019, prior to COVID-19, our staff travelled the state and provided more than 1,000 rights-based awareness raising education sessions and community forums attended by more than 33,000 people.

Desirable characteristics for a Board Director include governance competencies, industry knowledge and/or experience, strategy development and implementation. Behavioural characteristics include an ability to work cooperatively, a personal commitment to Seniors Rights Service's vision and willingness to work to achieve its objectives. Specific attributes of interest include knowledge, understanding and experience of financial management, fundraising in the not-for-profit sector, government relations and political advocacy and legal issues relevant for Seniors Rights Service.
