South East Sydney charity South Eastern Community Connect (SECC) is seeking a Receptionist and Admin Support Worker for a 25 hours per week position.

You will contribute to the operational objectives of the workplace; work collaboratively in a team environment; and oversee all administration tasks and general clerical duties including: 

  • Compiling monthly calendars.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and answering general enquiries.
  • Toy library pick-up and drop-off.
  • Production and distribution of publicity and promotional materials (experience with Canva is a plus).
  • Providing information, referrals and support to the community and other services.

Selection Criteria

Essentials

  • Demonstrated high level of computer skills.
  • Demonstrated client liaison and support skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective general administration skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Current drivers licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle.

Desirable

  • Ability to speak a community language.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting the South East Sydney region.

Common Selection Criteria

  • Knowledge of EEO, WHS and Anti-Discrimination.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employment is a part-time fixed-term contract of 25 hours a week/ 50 hours a fortnight.
  • The terms and conditions of employment fall under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHCADS) Award 2010 in conjunction with the National Employment Standards.
  • All employees of South Eastern Community Connect are bound by the properly approved policies and procedures of the organisation.
  • The employee is engaged as a probationary employee during an initial probationary period of six [6] months.
  • Your employment at South Eastern Community Connect is conditional to a Criminal Records Check under the legislation.
  • It is a condition of your employment that you must be fit to perform the inherent requirements of your position at SECC. Throughout your employment, SECC may require you to undergo further medical assessments either as precautionary measures or in the event that a matter relating to your fitness to work arises. It is a condition of your employment that you consent to the medical examiner providing reports about your fitness for work to SECC.
  • Up to date copies of the award, conditions of employment, policies and procedures are held in the office of South Eastern Community Connect.
  • Notice of termination. Following the probation period, your employment may be terminated by either party by a period of notice as specified by the NES. This does not affect the employer’s right to terminate your employment without notice where you are found to have engaged in serious and wilful misconduct.
  • Preferred starting date 6th July 2020.
