South Eastern Community Connect (SECC) is looking for a Family & Community Worker who can bring the best out of our community.

This is a full-time role, supporting clients across Randwick, City of Sydney, Waverley, Woollahra and Bayside LGAs.

As a SECC Family & Community Worker, you will work in a warm, supportive and dynamic team based at The SECC Community Hub in Mascot, Sydney.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

  • You will facilitate education and skills information sessions for families and the general community
  • You will work as a team providing case work services to families, children, young people and community members, responding to their individual needs as they arise
  • You will work collaboratively in a team environment across the LGAs we support
  • You will achieve outcomes consistent with the Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI) Program priority areas, across multiple work sites.

AS OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Experience delivering client-focused direct services to the community
  • Experience facilitating youth or parenting programs
  • Experience in community development roles, working with people who have experienced marginalisation, disadvantage or vulnerability
  • The demonstrated ability to network and work cooperatively with other community organisations
  • The demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a varied work environment, and across multiple work sites
  • A current driver’s license and a comprehensively insured vehicle
  • A current Working with Children Check (WCC)
  • A current First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A relevant three-year degree with applicable experience in Social Work or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge of community, youth and family services

Note: This role is paid under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHADS) Award 2010, Level 3.1 – 3.4 (dependent upon experience).
