Sefa is looking for an Engagement Analyst to join their Engagement team. This role will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of advisory and capability building support work with Sefa’s for purpose clients.

The Engagement Analyst will work closely with the team of Engagement Managers and reports to the Head of Engagement who is responsible for Sefa’s professional service offering and for building partnerships to strengthen Australia’s for-purpose financial ecosystem.

Typical fee-for-service work that the Engagement Analyst will contribute to ranges from building the capabilities that underpin organisational resilience, supporting a journey to investment readiness, working with organisations to develop bespoke funding opportunities and facilitating strategic workshops and building fit for purpose impact measurement frameworks.

The Engagement Analyst will focus on service delivery, and support the Engagement team with business development and pitching, to help build and maintain:

  • a robust and profitable pipeline of fee-for-service engagements
  • a strategic portfolio of bespoke funding opportunities with social impact at their centre
  • an engaged stakeholder group including partners (clients, investors, stakeholders) who integrate with the strategic activities of the Sefa group.

THE ENGAGEMENT ANALYST WILL:

  • Assist in the delivery of advisory engagements: undertake literature reviews, conduct market research, schedule and support stakeholder consultations, build frameworks for financial models and impact measurement
  • Contribute to business development: track potential market opportunities for Sefa; support our increasing profile with contributions to thought leadership; contribute to development of proposals
  • Support the Head of Engagement and Engagement Managers in maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • Work with Sefa Partnerships on joint projects and proposals, with a focus on blended finance and capacity building

YOU SHOULD ALSO CONSIDER:

  • This is a full time role however part time would be considered for the right candidate.
  • Initially 12 month contract role
  • There will be some domestic travel involved.
  • Our office is based in Darlinghurst, Sydney. It is in Yiranma Place, a newly opened thriving hub of like minded organisations.
  • Sefa operates a flexible work environment, with the option of working from home. The Sefa team enjoys five weeks of paid leave each year to recharge.

YOU HAVE:

  • Passion, energy, commitment and understanding of the impact investing / social finance / social enterprise / for purpose sectors and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and contribute to multiple projects at any one time
  • Relationship building skills with a focus on patience and resilience given the nature of the evolving impact investment sector in Australia
  • Highly developed analytical skills, e.g. around financial analysis and/or investment assessments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of audiences and levels of technical expertise
  • Proficiency in business language and ability to develop compelling proposals and deliver succinct and insightful reports
  • Highly developed MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience working in a high tempo professional services environment
  • Demonstrated responsibility for project leadership and delivery
  • Existing network in the for purpose/social impact sector
  • Understanding of the policy development cycle and government procurement
