Sexuality Education Counselling and Consultancy Agency (SECCA) is a not for profit organisation in West Perth.

SECCA supports people with disability to learn about human relationships, sexuality and sexual health. We offer a range of services including education and workshops offered to parents, carers and support staff as well as direct counselling for people who can benefit from education and therapeutic supports in relation to sexuality and relationships.

Due to an increase in demand for counselling services, SECCA is looking for qualified counsellors to provide relationship and sexuality counselling and therapeutic supports.

The counselling role includes individual, couple and family counselling and therapy sessions and education services about relationships and sexuality issues for people with disability and their support networks. This includes the ability to assess clients in relation to crisis and risk management circumstances and undertake case conferences, provide considered opinions, information and referrals as needed as well developing individualised therapy, intervention and preventative action plans and strategies.

Other tasks include conducting client assessments, working with key stakeholders, participate in case and family conferences, maintaining accurate case notes and client data, client feedback and working with relevant professional and agency ethics and policies.

The successful candidates will:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in sexology and counselling with eligibility for registration to the Australian Counselling Association
  • Have relevant experience providing sexuality therapy
  • Have the ability to work independently and manage a case load of clients
  • Have the ability to build strong relationships with clients
  • Share SECCA's values of respect, equity, equality and diversity, engendering trust and mutually respectful relationships
  • Have a passion for advocacy and supporting people with disability

Experience working with people with disability as well as NDIS experience and knowledge will be highly regarded.

SECCA will provide:

  • A fixed term 6 month contract with a high chance of extension
