Sea Shepherd Australia is a non-profit marine conservation organisation, that campaigns to defend, conserve and protect the ocean. Our mission is to protect defenceless marine wildlife and end the destruction of habitat in the world’s oceans. We use Innovative direct action tactics to investigate, document and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately balanced oceanic ecosystems, Sea Shepherd Australia works to ensure their survival for future generations.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Business Development Manager (BDM), the Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for planning, delivering, and maintaining our Regular Giving Program and Cash Appeals Program. Working closely with the BDM you will help to design, develop, and implement programs to grow our supporter base.

The Fundraising Coordinator role will be vital in introducing strategies to create valuable ongoing relationships with our donors. As a key member of the Business Development Team, you will be responsible for achieving annual fundraising targets, growing our supporter base and introducing ongoing strategies to build strong valuable relationships with our donors both new and existing.

Selection criteria essential

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience and an outstanding track record of success in managing end-to-end and ongoing direct response campaigns. Including the successful planning and implementation of donor retention and acquisition strategies that meet budget requirements.
  • Proven experience in successfully cultivating and managing long-lasting donor relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM (or other customer relationship management databases)
  • Exceptional ability to identify opportunities and maximise them to their full potential
  • Experience in report writing, complemented by strong data and analytical skills.
  • A clear understanding of fundraising practices in particular regular giving programs.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisation, time management and project management skills.
