Digital Content and Marketing Coordinator

  • Location: Flexible arrangements to work from the office in Williamstown, Victoria or work from home.

Purpose

In line with SSA’s strategic direction and in collaboration with the Engagement Coordinator under direction from the Communications Director, coordinate digital activities to deliver cutting-edge, engaging content with the goals of motivating and building our online community, increasing awareness and driving engagement.

Main tasks and responsibilities

In this role, you will devise and implement feature marketing campaigns and the production of associated collateral as well as build our supporter base through a variety of sources. You will be responsible for;

Managing SSAL’s Electronic Digital Marketing

  • Write, target, A/B test, segment, code, and send campaign emails to SSAL’s email list 

  • Work with fundraising to create and action acquisition journeys as well as donor retention campaigns 

  • Work to proactively grow the size and financial value of our email list and online support base 

  • Monitor, review and update strategies, plans, processes and procedures as required 


Digital Content Creation

  • Manage digital advertising including across Facebook, Google and SEM (Paid Search) digital media channels 

  • Draft, develop and publish website copy in alignment with the defined brand and voice 

  • Proactively pitch innovative digital content ideas and translate campaign plans into cutting-edge online content 

  • Conduct ongoing assessment and optimisation of SSAL’s website pages, including donation pages, to increase impact and fundraising revenue. 

  • Work alongside inhouse IT support to action website changes 


Key Selection Criteria

  1. 2+ years of professional experience in digital content creation 

  2. Proven track record of running digital paid advertising campaigns to achieve 
objectives 

  3. Strong understanding of copywriting for web based communications on an 
existing communications strategy 

  4. Experience using content management systems such as Django 

  5. Intermediate graphic design skills, with proven ability in Adobe suite 

  6. Expertise in the latest online engagement techniques and other rapidly 
developing media 

  7. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills 

  8. Ability to work as part of a team, under time constraints and strict deadlines, 
with minimum of supervision 

  9. A passion for ocean conservation
