A key part of the role is to lead and facilitate Council meetings of the full ASBEC membership (60-80 people) three times per year.

As Chair, the role leads the Board consistent with best practice governance principles, facilitating the effective contribution of all directors, and constructive, respectful relations between all Board directors and between the Board and ASBEC management. The Chair also provides support and mentoring to the Executive Director on a regular basis.
