Chief Executive Officer - Anglicare NT

Searchlight Group

Anglicare NT seeks to promote a just and caring society. Anglicare NT is a faith-informed agency, proud of its traditions as an NGO and a long-term Territory-based community service organisation. It continues to adapt and respond to the needs of its service-users, working to build a community of people empowered with the freedom to achieve happy and fulfilled lives. After nearly ten years in the role as the Chief Executive Officer of Anglicare NT, David Pugh has recently announced his retirement, effective in December 2022. The Board of Anglicare NT are seeking an outstanding community services leader aligned to their purpose and values who can build upon the legacy of an organisation that is well respected, and in good health financially with an engaged workforce.

Reporting to a skilled and committed Board, the Chief Executive will lead Anglicare NT to deliver the vision and strategy of the organisation as it continues to offer services to clients and communities with an ever-increasing array of complex needs. The Chief Executive will ensure that the organisation operates efficiently and effectively, applying sound business principles to the operations, whilst exploring new models and opportunities for growth of services and programs. Part of the role will include working with and supporting Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to provide culturally appropriate services to their communities. As the ‘face and voice’ of Anglicare NT, the Chief Executive will also be responsible for building, promoting and strengthening partnerships with government, and relevant sector stakeholder groups toward a common purpose.

To be considered you will be an experienced and ethical community/human services leader, qualified with a relevant degree and aligned to the purpose and values of Anglicare NT. You’ll have a successful track record in being able to build genuine and effective relationships with all people and a multitude of stakeholders, including Government, staff, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the Anglican Diocese of the Northern Territory.

As a leader you’ll be visionary, inclusive and kind, with a reputation for successfully leading organisations that deliver complex services and programs to people and communities that are marginalised and in remote parts of the country. You’ll be a credible and compelling communicator, able to influence and inspire a wide range of audiences with conviction. Naturally, you’ll be strategically minded but equally adept at ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness with a business acumen balanced against ensuring a supportive and enabling workplace culture.

This is one of those rare chances to really make a difference in the community services sector, with an enviable opportunity to enhance your career and your lifestyle.
