ABOUT THE ROLE

The CEO will report to an engaged and committed Board, and lead a talented team, committed to delivering sustainable health system reform in Victorian communities, responsible for the efficient and effective performance of VicHealth’s operations.

The CEO will:

• Provide expert advice to the Board and government
• Lead the implementation and delivery of VicHealth’s multi-year strategy for health promotion and implementation of the health equity agenda
• Champion innovation, systems thinking and better ways of working that drive a high-performance culture and better health and wellbeing outcomes for the people of Victoria
• Maintain an effective and accountable organisational structure and culture
• Foster collaborative relationships and partner with key local, national and global stakeholders to achieve VicHealth's strategic objectives, including the Minister for Health, the Department of Health and other agencies.
• Represent VicHealth publicly to inform and influence better health outcomes for the Victorian community

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be a respected voice and recognised leader within the public health and health promotion and disease prevention sector and will bring:

• The full suite of executive leadership skills including the ability to engage teams and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
• A track record implementing large-scale strategies that deliver better health outcomes and equity, particularly in culturally and linguistically diverse communities
• The ability to work effectively with a Board
• Excellent stakeholder skills and the ability to represent VicHealth at the highest level, and build and maintain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
• Credibility as a presenter, performer and influencer across communication and media (including social) channels
• Personal qualities including political acuity, professionalism, self-awareness, and integrity
