Mayflower is a leading not-for-profit provider of residential aged care, home care and retirement living options with services in Brighton, Reservoir, Macleod and Pascoe Vale. Mayflower’s Mission is to “enhance the quality of life choices in all aspects of care delivery.”

The organisation has an enviable 60 year history of providing responsive and innovative services that enhance independence, wellbeing and lifestyle. Mayflower is a not-for-profit (for purpose), non-denominational, community-based organisation created to support the wellbeing of older Australians. We have been caring for older Australians for over 60 years. Mayflower is currently master planning for three new developments, including two greenfield sites in Gisborne and Keilor as well as the redevelopment of an existing site at Macleod. Their master plans aim to deliver integrated care services at each site, with the aim of providing high quality support for older Australians across the continuum of care.

With a strong balance sheet, exciting plans for growth and development amidst a time of reform for the Aged Care sector, Mayflower would like to invite applications for three vacancies that currently exist on the Board to support and contribute to their strategic direction. We are seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals with skills in the following priority areas:

  • Clinical Governance expertise, ideally within an Aged Care environment
  • Strategic marketing, communications, and/or Stakeholder/Government Relations
  • Knowledge/skills and experience in Construction, Property, Statutory Planning, Legal (Property/Planning)

In addition to specialist skills, applicants should possess some of the following skills and/or experience:

  • Past experience on public, private or for-purpose Boards, conceptual and strategic thinking skills; financial literacy;
  • An understanding of the NFP, Aged Care and/or Community sector (ideally);
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other Directors while maintaining independent thought and preparedness to challenge others’ thinking;
  • Governance knowledge and/or education (AICD or equivalent).
