About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health provides an exciting and innovative multi-disciplinary learning environment working with individuals, families and communities in order to meet their health needs and requirements. The Faculty is seeking a Lecturer in Social Work to contribute to the Master and Bachelor of Social Work degrees, and Bachelor of Community Welfare through a student-centered teaching practice and contribute to the coordination and teaching of field education units.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Undertake Work Integrated Learning (Placements) tasks;
• Undertake relevant community and professional engagement that support and enhance the University and Faculty’s profile and priorities; and
• Actively engage in the scholarship of teaching through reflective practice and engagement in professional activities.

About you

The successful applicant will possess a PhD in a social work or a related discipline and post-qualifying social work practice experience. Applicants must be eligible for, or have current, membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and a minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience. Additionally, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience teaching and designing innovative curricula at a tertiary level;
• Experience developing online educational programs incorporating technologies that enhance teaching and learning; and

• A track record of research, as evidenced by grants, publication output and supervision of research students.
• Demonstrated experience in Work Integrated Learning including field supervision, coordination of field education or other related activities is highly desirable.

Salary and benefits

• 1x Full-time (Continuing, permanent) and 1x Fixed term contract (2 Years). Fractional appointments may also be considered.
• Located at Gold Coast. Generous relocation support available.
• Academic Level B. The base salary ranges from $101,544 - $120,179 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $140,609.
