The National Department of Education (NDOE) administers and coordinates the educational system of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) by: (a) Promoting education by setting minimum standards for educational administration, programs, and facilities; (b) Coordinating efforts to obtain and distribute foreign aid for education in an equitable manner which will provide the maximum benefit to the students of the FSM; (c) Providing technical assistance to the States concerning educational administration, programs, facilities, and training; and (d) Coordinating efforts which seek to meet the needs of FSM students in the area of post-secondary education, including FSM students at home and abroad, scholarships, and transfers among colleges.
The main responsibility of this position is advisory only and to support the implementation of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Grant): Improving the Quality of Basic Education in the North Pacific (IQBE). The Adviser is not to represent the Partner Government and/or the LEA at any international forum. This project is implemented in FSM and the Republic of Marshall Islands.
You will be accountable to, and managed by Director, Yap State Department of Education.
This role is expected to commence in May 2020 for a period of 12 months.
