About the opportunity

Scope Global is seeking expressions of interest for a suitably qualified Director/Team Leader to join our Kiribati Facility Program. The Director/Team Leader is accountable for providing strategic leadership and direction for the Skills for Employment Program (SfEP) and the Flexible Support Facility (FSF) to ensure all program end of program outcomes are achieved.

The position will be a key enabler for supporting the information needs of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Government of Kiribati, the Kiribati Institute of Technology, Scope Global, and other stakeholders by acting as a hub of information and exchange and facilitating clear and timely communication between all parties. The Director/Team Leader will collaborate and develop strategic alliances with local, regional and international stakeholders to successfully progress training pathways and labour mobility. In addition, the Director/Team Leader will identify and progress new opportunities that effectively utilise the FSF and establish the Kiribati Facility as an effective and efficient mechanism for DFAT, capable of responding to local COVID related or other activity needs.

About you

To be successful, you will have strong adaptive leadership/management skills and a proven ability to deliver results. You will have significant experience and expertise working in development cooperation preferably in the Indo-Pacific region. You will have experience working with different agencies, preferably in a small-island state context, to achieve local and national social and economic development outcomes and results.

You will have demonstrated experience in public diplomacy, strategic project design and implementation, strengthening local capacity in a cross-cultural environment, financial planning, strong communication and relationship-building, and organisational development skills.
