Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) is a member-based national for purpose organisation promoting independence for people with a spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities.  We provide NDIS and other services to support and assist our clients to achieve their goals with improved independence. Working together with our customers, our aim is to eliminate the barriers that restrict social inclusion for people with a spinal cord injury and other physical disability, developing a society which is accessible in every way.

The Plan Management Team Leader is responsible for assisting in the operational processes of SCIA’s Plan Management service. This role will oversee SCIA’s Plan Management functions and provide leadership support to the Plan Management team, whilst continuing to work on improving our processes to support faster payments and continued growth of the service. This role will have additional responsibilities that will aid Management in monitoring operational plans and budgets and managing staff productivity to ensure that key performance measures are met.

Duties include:

  • Be a point of contact for a small team providing Plan Management to NDIS clients.
  • Provide plan management services to NDIS participants in compliance with NDIS guidelines and SCIA work practices.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of work practices for SCIA’s Plan Management service.
  • Manage the centralised ticketing system used to receive all invoices and queries.
  • Work alongside the Finance Department to understand SCIA’s financial systems and provide innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Regularly monitor the output of invoice claims and provide insight to Management on claiming volumes and necessary trends.
  • Ensure that all Service Level Agreement timelines are being met, including payment timeframes, client expenditure reporting and budget updates.
  • General finance duties which may include accounts payable and reconciliation tasks.
  • Participate in project work at the request of the Community Services Manager
  • Facilitate Plan Management training for the team, including Regional Offices
  • Participate in the recruitment of new team members
  • Provide assistance in compliance processes and initiatives and participate in any necessary audits that occur for the NDIS services

Skills required include:

  • Bookkeeping or accounting qualification and experience working in a relevant environment (Disability Services or Allied Health)
  • Demonstrated skills in financial management.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with NDIS participants.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the delivery of a high quality service.
  • Ability to lead a team of Plan Management Administrators, both locally and remotely.
  • Excellent understanding of the NDIS
  • Strong customer service experience and the ability to manage any complex customer issues
  • Tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.

The position can be worked either full-time (37.5 hrs p/w) or Part - Time (30 hrs p/w).

Our Plan Management Team is based in St Peters and this role can be worked from both the office and home (during the COVID-19 period we adhere to social distancing requirements and this will be reviewed at an appropriate time).
