Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) is a leading for-purpose organisation committed to ensuring ongoing independence and well-being for people living with a spinal cord injury or neurological condition. We are passionate about continually improving our services and providing maximum opportunity for those whose lives are affected by a spinal cord injury or similar conditions.

To deliver to the strategic vision of the organisation, SCIA’s key advisory committees operate to advise the SCIA Board of Directors. Committees are comprised of community members who are at the centre of SCIA decision-making process to inform, guide and prioritise; and professionals with expertise in their field.

SCIA’s Clinical Governance and Research Committee oversees the Clinical Governance and Research Frameworks ensuring that the two frameworks operate together to promote the best outcomes for our community across the following SCIA services:

  • NeuroMoves
  • Occasional and Emergency Services
  • Peer and Family Support

Four new roles and become available to fill this committee including:  

  • Three clinicians in the rehabilitation of neurological conditions
  • One academic (researcher) in the field of clinical rehabilitation of neurological conditions 

As a National organisation, SCIA invites expressions of interest from across Australia.

This is a voluntary position and requires a 2-hour quarterly time commitment for meetings as well as some background work in preparation or after the meetings. The committee meets virtually. 

Other members comprising this committee will be people from the community living with a disability from a spinal cord injury or other neurological condition and people who are caring for others with a disability from a spinal cord injury or other neurological condition.
