Where you come in:

In this part time, fixed term position (22.8 hours per week through to end of December 2020) based in Ceduna, you'll deliver recreational activities for young people to build their confidence and develop important life skills. You'll mentor young people aged 7-13 years and assist in increasing their wellbeing and community engagement. As part of our Ceduna team, you'll report to our Regional Manager.

  • Supporting the planning and implementation of engaging activities
  • Create a safe environment to encourage active participation and growth
  • Build on young people's interests and strengthen identity and culture
  • Work with other local services

You will have…

Creativity, motivation and commitment. Your empathy, understanding and communication skills make you a great role model. You're not afraid to learn and seek help when you need it and see yourself in partnership with young people, their families and the wider community. You consider yourself a team player, have a 'can-do' attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for your job and community.

This role requires:

  • Certificate III in Youth Services (or progress toward) preferred, however consideration will be given to experience or other relevant qualifications
  • Ability to work with young people, often with complex needs, in a safe and respectful way
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt through collaboration and working with other services
