In this casual role, you'll be part of our dedicated youth team to maximise the impact of our programs on the lives of children and young people in East Gippsland. You'll foster lasting links with the community and encourage active engagement with the services we are proud to deliver.

Where you come in:

In this casual position, based in East Gippsland, you'll work as part of the East Gippsland programs team to support activities such as the Diversity & Inclusion Ambassador program. You'll also support the Children's Wellbeing Initiative with the delivery of a range of community engagement activities to amplify the voices of children and young people in community.

You will make an impact by:

  • Engaging and building rapport with at-risk children and young people
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of activities
  • Promoting the access of young people to relevant programs in the area
  • Working effectively within a team, including staff and volunteers

… You're an enthusiastic and committed person with demonstrated experience working with children and young people. Your highly developed cultural awareness and sensitivity, partnered with excellent communication skills, will enable you to build community networks and lasting relationships. You're not afraid of a challenge and constantly seek to grow and develop.

This role requires:

  • Proven facilitation skills of group activities for children and young people
  • Demonstrated experience working in community development and/or youth work
  • Highly developed verbal and written skills, including strong cross-cultural communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Diploma or tertiary qualifications in youth work, social work, social science, education, psychology, or relevant field
