Save the Children Australia runs family support services across Smithton and Devonport, working with families where children are engaged with, or at risk of being engaged with, Child Safety Services. We need you to lead our team to deliver evidence-based programs for families and children with complex, high needs. We're seeking someone who has a passion for assisting our communities' most vulnerable, at risk children and families to reach their full potential.

Where you come in:

In this part-time, maximum term position (3 days a week for 6 months, with possible additional hours and potential contract extension), based in Devonport, you will lead 6 staff members to deliver family support programs across North West Tasmania. You'll be responsible for the operational running of activities and supporting your staff, including providing their professional supervision. You'll be part of our North West Tasmania team and report to our Regional Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the North West Tasmania team to maximise positive outcomes for families and children
  • Building and maintaining effective networks and relationships to promote programs, generate support and create effective referral pathways
  • Providing regular leadership to the program team through coaching and professional supervision
  • Monitoring program contracts (under guidance) to ensure contractual obligations are met

This role requires:

  • Experience working with families from diverse and disadvantaged communities
  • Working knowledge of the Tasmanian Child Safety system
  • A diploma level certification (minimum) in a relevant field
  • Proven leadership skills, the ability to nurture a cohesive team
  • Valid driver's licence
